FEW FACTS ABOUT SPRINKLERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following statistics are taken from the <em>Activity report and statistics on fires reported in 2012<\/em>, prepared by the Minist\u00e8re de la S\u00e9curit\u00e9 publique.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2010, 2011 and 2012, there were an average of <strong>20 building fires per day<\/strong> across Qu\u00e9bec\u2014approximately <strong>one fire every 72 minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In 2012, <strong>7,225 building fires<\/strong> were reported, for losses estimated at <strong>$467.9 million<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Only <strong>10% of buildings<\/strong> that caught fire were equipped with sprinklers.<\/li>\n<li>A National Fire Protection Association survey of 58,000 fires revealed <strong>a 96.2% efficacy rate for automatic
