B-1.1) is applied by the R\u00e9gie du b\u00e2timent du Qu\u00e9bec and provides for the adoption of a building code that sets forth specific standards for buildings, equipment and installations.<\/p>\n<p>The National Building Code cites National Fire Protection Association standard NFPA-13, <em>Standard for the installation of sprinkler systems<\/em>, regarding the design of automatic sprinkler systems in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n<p>All CMEICI members have in-depth knowledge of not only standard NFPA-13, but also NFPA-14, NFPA-16, NFPA-20, NFPA-25, and NFPA-30, as well as the codes, standards and regulations applicable in the various municipalities they serves.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, pursuant to section 24 of the Qu\u00e9bec Engineers Act, the installation plans and specifications for sprinkler systems that are mandatory in new builds worth over $100,000 must be signed and sealed by an engineer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Legislative framework The Building Act (R.S.Q., c.
