As part of its mission to protect the identity of the highly specialized profession of fire protection contractor, the CMEICI has launched several initiatives to ensure compliance with or implementation of best practices. Exclusive jurisdiction of the fire protection mechanic
October 4, 2012After substantial efforts by both the CMEICI and Local 3 of the FTQ, the construction industry commissioner ruled that the installation of fire protection systems, including the installation of all system activation devices (detection, wiring, accessories) and extinction networks, falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the trade of fire protection mechanic.
Developing of a mobile school
August 30, 2010The CMEICI, the CCQ, and Local 3 of the FTQ worked together to develop a mobile school. This unit, equipped with leading-edge technology (water, air, pre-action, foam , fire pump sprinkler systems, etc.) and a classroom, travels the province to offer professional development courses to fire protection mechanics.

First course for fire protection mechanics
