After substantial efforts by both the CMEICI and Local 3 of the FTQ, the construction industry commissioner ruled that the installation of fire protection systems, including the installation of all system activation devices (detection, wiring, accessories) and extinction networks, falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the trade of fire protection mechanic.

This unit, equipped with leading-edge technology (water, air, pre-action, foam , fire pump sprinkler systems, etc.) and a classroom, travels the province to offer professional development courses to fire protection mechanics.
